Timothy “Eric” Meland, 44 of Becida, MN died Monday, April 2, 2012 at his home.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 pm Thursday, April 12, 2012 at the Cease Family Funeral Home in Bemidji, MN.

Eric was born October 31, 1967 the son of Gerald Leland Meland and Bonnie Ann Meland Kosko. Eric grew up in the Bemidji area and attended Bemidji High School. He was very active playing nose guard for the Lumberjacks football team. Eric graduated in 1986. After high school, Eric went to work at Potlatch/Ainsworth and was employed there until a few years ago. He was most recently employed at Pine Products Inc. Eric took great pride in his three sons, Cody, Zachary and Hunter. He enjoyed camping, fishing, tubing and barbequing with them. He was an avid bow and rifle hunter and always kept his yard looking sharp. Eric enjoyed spending time and laughing with his friends and family. His wonderful smile, subtle witty remarks and his kind gentle heart will always be remembered.

Eric is survived by his children, Cody Eric, Zachary Devin and Hunter Brice; his mother, Bonnie (Richard) Kosko of Cheboygan, MI; two brothers, Jerry (Karrie) Meland of Bemidji and Steve (Michelle) Meland of Zimmerman; a sister, Gena (Robert) Troy of Bemidji; his longtime friend, Mandi Malterud of Becida; two nieces and four nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Leonard and Minda Meland and William and Ethel Rockensock; his father, Gerald Leland Meland and an infant brother, Scott Meland.
