Obituary for Louis M. Snyder

Louis Michael Snyder, 89 of Wilton died Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at his home.

Funeral Services will be 1:00 pm Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at the Cease Family Funeral Home in Bemidji, MN with Rev. Lee Yarger officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Tuesday. Interment will be at the Greenwood Cemetery in Bemidji.

Louie was born October 13, 1922 in Cedar Valley, Minnesota the son of Michael Antoine and Eva Claire (Woods) Snyder. He graduated from Floodwood High School in 1941. He married Lora Jean Branson August 26, 1944 in Meadowlands, MN at the home of her parents with her grandfather, Francis M. Coons officiating. After their marriage, they lived in Floodwood, MN for 25 years, owning and operating a grocery store. They moved to Bemidji, MN in 1969 to continue in the grocery business and then to Wilton, MN in 1974. He was an active, dedicated member of the City of Wilton Council and the rural Fire Association for over 25 years. He received an award of appreciation for continuous and dedicated service to the City of Wilton in January 2007 (He was appointed in 1984 as council member). He enjoyed woodworking, building his house, and mowing grass in Wilton.

He is survived by his wife: Lora Jean Snyder of Wilton, MN Children: Michael H. (Dana) Snyder of Ferndale, WA Jeffrey L. Snyder of Wilton, MN Kay Frances Snyder of Bemidji, MN Grandchild: Justin M. (Tammie) Snyder of Martinez, CA Great grandchild: Lindsey H. Snyder of Martinez, CA Sisters: Catherine Fieber of Milwaukee, WI Luella Zauhar of Floodwood, MN And numerous nieces and nephews

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother- Ronald A. Snyder, sister-Phylis Koller and infant twin brothers.

Active Casketbearers will be his sons, friends and neighbors.

Honorary Casketbearers will be his children and grandchildren.
