James Lawrence Loons, 65, of Onigum, MN died Saturday, May 5, 2012 in St. Paul.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm, Friday, May 11, 2012 at the Onigum Community Center in Onigum. A wake will begin on Thursday, May 10, 2012 at the Onigum Community Center and will continue until the time of services on Friday. Interment will be at the Old Agency Cemetery in Onigum under the direction of the Cease Family Funeral Home of Cass Lake.

James was born on March 9, 1947, in Cass Lake, MN, the son of Lawrence and Mary (Bellanger) Loons. He was raised and educated in Cass Lake. He lived between Cass Lake and the Twin Cities over the years and he worked at a variety of jobs. He enjoyed fishing.

He is survived by his: Daughter, Betty Loons, Brother, Robert Loons, Numerous Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 11 siblings.
