Ida Martha Cloose

Ida Martha Cloose, 97, of Bemidji died Sunday, May 6, 2012 at Neilson Place in Bemidji.

Memorial Services will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, May 12, 2012 at Neilson Place in Bemidji, MN with Rev. Matthew Wurm and Vicar Matthew Meyer officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at Neilson Place. Interment will be at the Pony Lake Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Bemidji, MN under the direction of the Cease Family Funeral Home of Bemidji.

She was born on March 3, 1915, in New Richland, MN, the daughter of Herman and Emma Spletstoeser. She attended grade school to grade 8. She worked for her parents delivering milk for the small dairy they owned and operated. She also worked at the Poultry House candling eggs. On a trip to Bemidji with her uncle Ed Hillert, who owned a small grocery store in Nymore, she met William Cloose, whose sister Marie, worked for Ed. On March 17, 1938 she married William L. Cloose and they lived and farmed west of Puposky, MN. They had two children, William H. and Barbara M. In about 1971 Ida began working at Jack’s Supper Club in Wilton as a cleaning lady. She also prepared the bar-b-qued ribs as well as numerous other jobs which she was asked to do. She was employed there for over 20 years. In 1999, Ida lived with William H. in Aitkin, MN. In 2000 she moved into the Loon Lake Lodge in Bemidji, which is an assisted-living facility. Then in April she moved into the Bemidji Rehab facility and lived there for two years. In 2004 she moved into the Neilson Place nursing home where she lived until she passed away.

She is survived by: Son, William H. (Patricia) Cloose of Bemidji, Granddaughters, Dawn (Lou) Christen of Princeton, Kala Cloose of Aitkin,

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Otto, Arthur, William, Walter, sister Elsie, and her daughter Barbara M. Kliegle.
