Gene Allen Gerbracht

Gene A. Gerbracht, 56, of Leonard, MN died on Saturday, September 1, 2012 at his home after a long illness with Pick’s disease surrounded by his loving family.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, September 7, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Leonard, MN with the Rev. Robert Kirchman officiating. A memorial visitation will be held from 6 – 8 p.m. on Thursday, September 6th at Cease Family Funeral Home of Bagley with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. and memorial visitation will also be held one hour prior to the memorial service at the church. Honorary Pallbearers will be Harry Larson, Paul Netland, Tim Derby, David Rongstad, and Arvid Larson.

Gene was born on August 1, 1956 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the son of Arlo and Doris (Bardwell) Gerbracht. He graduated from Bagley High School in 1974. On October 26, 1974 in Shevlin, Minnesota Gene married Marlene May Larson his High School sweetheart, best friend, and love of his life. He worked for 22 years as a foreman for Aconite Corporation in Eagan, Minnesota. He was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Leonard. Gene enjoyed fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, camping, boating, and he especially loved spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Marlene of Leonard; son, Bart (Tammy) Gerbracht of Brooks, MN; 2 daughters, Tamara (Chris) Molitor of Shevlin, MN and Tonya (Kase) Thompson of Leonard, MN; 11 grandchildren, Andrea, Amy, Brandon, Zach, Krissanne, Hannah, Lucas, Samantha, Lexi, Kira, and Domanick; 2 brothers, Larry (Carolyn) Gerbracht of Leonard, and Rod (Mary) Gerbracht of Bagley, Minnesota; 2 sisters, Darlene (Tim) Derby of Bagley and Debra Ramsrud of Bagley; a sister in law, Darlene Gerbracht of Bagley; a brother in law, David Rongstad of Leonard; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arlo and Doris Gerbracht; a brother, James Gerbracht; 2 sisters, Geraldine Rongstad and Janice Erickson-Gordon; a brother in law, Douglas Erickson; and a great nephew, Riley Erickson.
