Constance Elona Reich, age 73, of Gonvick, MN passed away peacefully on Sunday February 24th surrounded by her loving family at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Clearbrook, MN.
Memorial services will be held at Cease Family Funeral Home Chapel in Bagley, MN on Thursday, February 28, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. with Father Dave Super officiating. Interment of cremains will be at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery in Mandan, ND.
Connie was born on July 15, 1939 at Gonvick, MN to Tommy and Ethel (Thorpe) Bolstad. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She attended school at Winsor and Gonvick as well as in the Duluth area.
Connie was joined in marriage to James Reich on February 4,1975. They made their home in Thief River Falls, MN and later moved to rural Gonvick to Connies original family farm after Jim's retirement from the Soo Line Railroad in 1987.
Connie worked many jobs through out her life including owning and managing her own bar and restaurant as well as raising cattle, which she said she enjoyed the most. She had many interests in life including gardening, fishing and camping, photography, rosemaling, music, reading and most recently genealogy. Her greatest joy was spending time with her loving husband Jim and her family and friends. Connie had a great sense of humor and a wonderful laugh and will be dearly missed.
Connie is survived by brother in law Robert Winand of Crookston, sister in law Helen Reich of Bismark, North Dakota, special nieces and nephews Sally Jo (Paul) Bergman, Clearbrook, MN, Carly, Erick and Emily Bergman, Clearbrook, Jennifer (Lyle) Mathison, Wahpeton,ND, Sarah (Jake) Robertson, Bemidji, MN, Gary Sundquist, Crookston, Ethel (Larry) Shimpa, Erskine, Elaine (Jeff)Jenson, Twin Valley, Evelyn (Bryan) Halvorson, Grand Forks, Valerie (Bryan) Smith, Hastings, Donald (Tracy) Winand, Brooks; Laura (Jeff) Sirockman of Kennewick, WA; and many more nieces and nephews too numerous to mention.
Connie was preceded in death by her infant son, Steven, loving husband Jim, her parents, her sister Farrell Winand, brother and sister-in-law Bobby and Donna Bolstad, sisters and brother-in-laws Betty Lou and Dick Kruschke, Donnis and Lloyd Larson, Erin and John Seaweard.
