Winifred Elizabeth Lindbom, 67 of Bemidji, MN died Thursday, October 15, 2009 at North Country Regional Hospital in Bemidji.

Memorial Services will be 1:00 pm, Thursday, October 29, 2009 at the Cease Family Funeral Home in Bemidji, MN with Rev. Mark Papke-Larson officiating. A feast will be held following the service at the Veteran’s Memorial Building in Cass Lake, MN. Arrangements are with the Cease Family Funeral Home of Bemidji.

She was born on March 3, 1942, in Walker, MN the daughter of Susan Brown. She was raised in Onigum, MN. She attended elementary school in Walker, and high school in Backus, graduating in 1961. After graduation she and a girlfriend traveled Mexico, Central America, Venezuela, and most of the United States while working for a publishing company. Winni met Tom Lindbom in 1959 in Nisswa, MN, and they were married on June 15, 1963. They lived in Missouri, and later Brainerd, and St. Peter, MN. They moved to Bemidji in 1985. Winni coordinated the Girl Scout Program for the Red Lake Reservation. She trained, mentored, and recruited for the Girl Scouts. She and her husband started caring for foster children through North Homes Inc. Winni wanted to help kids, and give back. She enjoyed bingo, her friends at the Palace Casino, and all the friendships she’s had over the years.

She is survived by: her husband, Tom Lindbom of Bemidji, Son, Kirk Lindbom of Grand Forks, MN, Daughters, Krey Lindbom of Lenior, NC, Numerous Foster Children, Grandchildren, Nicholas Fredrickson, Christina Lindbom, And Bobbie Jean Lindbom. Great-Grandchild, Mason Lindbom Special Granddaughter, Maggie Buckanaga.

She was preceded in death by her mother, brothers Sylas, Charlie, Frankie, and sister Rebecca.

Honorary Casketbearers will be: Matt Brown, Jesse Johnson, David Lindbom, and Rob Lindbom, Carol Grzybowski, Dana Morris, Kim Anderson, and Pam Michaud.
