Leonard Julin 90 of Shevlin, MN died on Thursday, May 3, 2012 at the Cornerstone Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Bagley.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 7, 2012 at 2:00 PM in the Landstad Lutheran Church in Shevlin, MN with Rev. Bill Goodman officiating Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at the Shevlin-Moose Community Cemetery south of Shevlin. Military rites will be accorded by the Irvin Blix American Legion Post No. 16 of Bagley. The Cease Family Funeral Home of Bagley assisted with the arrangements.
Leonard was born October 10, 1921 in Shevlin, Minnesota the son of Frank and Clara (Sletten) Julin. He attended school in Shevlin and later worked as a logger and farmer. In 1956 he married Lulu Reed and they moved to Proctor, MN. where Leonard worked for the D.M.& I.R. railroad until retiring. They moved back to Shevlin where Leonard enjoyed hunting, fishing, tinkering with old tractors and the outdoors. He was a veteran of World War 2 and a member of the American Legion for 34 years.
Survivors include- Two daughters- Sandra Julin of Shevlin, MN Susan (Dave) Gregory of Shevlin, MN Two granddaughters- Megan and Mariah Two Stepsons- Richard Reed of Florida Wesley Reed of Bagley, MN Sister- Dorothy (Vernie) Swanson of Proctor, MN Several nieces and nephews
He was preceded in death by his wife in 2004, sister- Mabel Leematta, and a brother- Ernest Julin.
